The researchers of this department are active on two main subdivisions of atmospheric science and physical oceanography science. In the atmospheric subdivision the main focuses are on the subjects such as environmental pollutions including aerosols and carbon dioxide in the air, and the solutions to resolve such pollutions. In the oceanographic subdivision the main focuses are on the hydrodynamic of the coastal area, and how they can interact with the anthropogenic activities. Geomorphology of the coastal area are also investigated in this faculty. Most of the researches are modelling base, and the students are skilled with variety of models in the field of atmosphere and ocean included but not limited to MIKE, WRF, ROMS, PALM, COHERENS and Arc-GIS.
